[Mayan EDMS: 1862] Mayan EDMS version 2.5.2 released

Version 2.5.2 was released along with the corresponding updated Docker image.

Feature summary:

Version 2.5.2
  •  Split document upload transaction to improves duplicate document scan.
Version 2.5.1
  • This version is the same as version 2.5. The version increase was due to an release upload issue.

Version 2.5
  • Add support for downloading a document's OCR text as a separate file.
  • Fix resolution field of the SANE scanner source.
  • Mailing profiles. Create document emailing setups from the UI.
  • A lineart transformation was added to increase OCR accuracy.
  • Menu reoganization.
  • PDF compatibility. Non-compliant and empty-password encrypted PDF documents are now supported
  • A workaround for Libre Office's bug #37531 (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37531) was added.
  • New way to configure a document type's metadata type with losing metadata information.
  • Relationship between metadata type and document type can now also be changed from the metadata type view.
  • Duplicated document detection.
  • "Remember me" login checkbox for persistent user sessions.
  • AUTHENTICATION_MAXIMUM_SESSION_LENGTH setting to control maximum user session persistence. Defaults to 30 days.
  • Support for disabling the document image cache. Trade off disk usage for CPU usage when disk space is more expensive than CPU power.
  • Find documents by their initial workflow states.
  • Support for restoring forgotten password via email.
  • Display improvements in small devices like tablets and smart phones.
  • Browser memory reduction.
  • Many more smaller features.

Docker image changes
  • Update to Mayan EDMS version 2.5.2.
  • Static files are automatically updated. GitLab issue #11.
  • Add the new 'documents' queue to the medium worker.
  • Allow setting NGINX's client_max_body_size and proxy_read_timeout from the environment variables MAYAN_NGINX_CLIENT_MAX_BODY_SIZE and MAYAN_NGINX_PROXY_READ_TIMEOUT.
  • Add instruction on mounting host data for watched folders or staging folders. GitLab issue #2.
  • Error logging improvements. It is now possible to see the worker logs with the command: docker logs mayan-edms

Will upgrading via the Docker method override the "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/maya/settings/production.py" file?

That is the file we put the custom DJANGO in for the DJANGO-STORAGES to function.

Yes, the production.py file is part of the distribution and overwritten on upgrades. Use the local.py for user changes or the environments variables to make persistent changes.

Thanks.  I sent you an email to just complete the quote to get this fixed the right way.  Our developer doesn't understand the steps I don't believe.
